DYEP Primary comprises the provision of introductory courses on Coding to students at primary level.
The NCB acts as a ‘training provider’ to the Minister of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology for the introduction of Coding in primary schools starting as early as at Grade 4 and Grade 5. The DYEP training is delivered in NCB’s Cyber Caravans
DYEP Secondary refers to training of Secondary Students in Coding at Grade 9 level and takes place in the Computer Labs of State and Private Secondary Schools during school vacations. The course modules, among others, include hands-on practice on HTML/CSS, Scratch and Micro Bits.
ICT Awareness Training for Senior Citizens (Based on social media: Facebook and online communication tools: Skype, WhatsApp & others)
The Citizen Engagement Programme (CEP) aims at imparting ICT skills to our Senior Citizens thus enabling them to acquire the necessary digital capacities to join the online communities so that technology becomes an important part of their daily life.
Social Media and Online Communication Tools are included in the training offered to the Senior Citizens.
The Universal ICT Education Programme (UIEP) is aimed at empowering the citizens and the society at large with digital skills at literacy/proficiency level.
The programme is being implemented by the NCB over the years and is in line with Government vision to transform Mauritius into a Cyber Island and an Information Society.
