NCB operates two 3D Design & Printing Centres (at Port Louis and Coromandel) for the benefit of a wide range of industries, professions and academia, including SMEs, start-ups, designers and university students.
Both centres offer free services of 3D Printing and 3D Scanning, advice, counselling and initiation for 3D designs and modelling.
The National Computer Board is continuously promoting the Internet of Things (IoT) through trainings, conferences and Demos during various events.
Setting up a national IOT platform will be pursued for collection of data from IoT sensors in real time such as air quality, weather, traffic and public transport and subsequent dissemination.
In line with its objectives to promote innovation in all spheres of the society, the NCB has setup two 3D Printing Centres for the benefit of a wide range of industries, professions and academia, including SMEs, start-ups, designers and university students.
The NCB is now envisioning to setup a Digital Fabrication Lab which would be a small-scale workshop with an array of computer aided controlled tools for different usage and materials, with the aim to make "almost anything".
